When I need help I ask my native speakers friends, ask to a dictionary, ask to the teacher or a tutor. Mainly, I ask for help to the Google translate. Usually, once a week I go to TOEFL classes, it helps me to be prepared with this exam. Moreover, 30-min essays and vocabulary work in self-directed studies helped me a lot.

I am glad that self-direct studies is helping and that you are asking for help from native speakers and tutors. Be careful using google translate... sometimes it is not a very good translator. It does pretty good with individual words but it does not always do well with sentences.
